"An Amateur quiltmaker has turned her needlework hobby into a successful charity venture to bring festive cheer to the needy this Christmas. Rhona Thomson, 45, and her freinds wanted a way to help communities by harnessing their "addiction" for meeting up and making blankets in their spare time. Now the group are donating their quilts to people in need - including hospital patients, accident victims, the homeless and the elderly - after forming their own charity...." Volunteers took part in a quilt-a-thon for charity recently. The event was organised by Comfort Quilts Scotland – a group set up by Bonhill resident Rhona Thomson. It helps to teach people to make quilts which are then sent to children and adults in need. Members have provided quilts for children in Yorkhill in Glasgow, Robin House in Balloch and even youngsters in Oban. Those is attendance at the quiltathon which took place last Saturday enjoyed soup and home baking.....

“Comfy and Cosy in Invereck”
Dunoon community quilters presented 17 quilts and 11 knitted shawls to the residents of Invereck Care Home, last Tuesday, March 18th 2008. The group, which is part of Comfort Quilts Scotland, fashions and donates quilts to anyone who could benefit by a bit of extra warmth and was delighted to help out when it was approached by Invereck.....
